Andy Murray will launch ‘Andy Murray Live‘ on 21st September 2016. This is going to become an annual tennis event to raise money for two charities; Unicef and Young People’s Futures which is based in Glasgow. Three more great tennis players will join Andy Murray for this inaugural event. Grigor Dimitrov, Jamie Murray and Tim Henman are going to come together to show their support for Andy’s initiative. They are sure to give their audiences a wonderful evening of tennis.
The event will take place at SSE Hydro in Glasgow in early autumn. As well as a chance to mix with tennis stars, kids will be able to get onto the tennis court, before the friendly tournament gets started. We were asked by SSE to help them promote this fantastic event by creating a giant inflatable tennis ball!
The thing about a giant tennis ball is that it is round. This might sound obvious but it does create a challenge. No one wants to watch a 4m diameter inflatable ball rolling away! We were keen to avoid using long guy ropes to anchor the ball so we created a stabilising ring and anchors instead. This will make it easy to assemble as it travels all round major conurbations in Scotland to promote the event.
The inflatable will finish up at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow in time for the Andy Murray Live event.
A giant inflatable tennis ball certainly provided a fun photo opportunity – perfect for social media – and helped SSE achieve their goal of creating awareness and making the event a success. If we can help make something eye-catching for your event or to publicise your message, send us an email or give us a ring on 01295 278600.
